UvaLink FAQ
Check the most Frequently Asked Questions about UvaLink’s vineyard management software.
What is UvaLink?
UvaLink is a vineyard management app built for small to mid-sized vineyard operations that need something better than paper records and spreadsheets, without paying thousands of dollars for complex enterprise software. It helps growers and vineyard teams track field activity, organize records by block, and keep a searchable history throughout the season.
Who is UvaLink for?
UvaLink is designed for small to medium vineyards that want practical recordkeeping and better operational visibility without the cost or complexity of large enterprise platforms. It’s a good fit for owner-operators, vineyard managers, and small teams who need a simpler way to track work, scouting, and reporting.
Why use UvaLink instead of spreadsheets or paper records
Spreadsheets and notebooks can work for a while, but they get harder to manage as activity adds up across blocks, tasks, and team members. UvaLink gives you one place to log work, keep records organized, search past activity, and make reporting, certifications, and compliance easier without piecing everything together manually later.
What can I track in UvaLink?
UvaLink supports common vineyard workflows, including:
- Scouting observations & resolution tracking
- Irrigation activity
- Pest control applications
- Canopy management
- Vine nutrition / fertilization
- Health & monitoring
- Harvest activity
- Reporting and season comparisons
Does UvaLink track my vineyard layout?
Yes. UvaLink is designed to reflect how your vineyard is organized, including blocks and the layout structure you use to manage work and records. That makes it easier to log activity in the right place, keep records organized, and review history by area of the vineyard. You can even track activity down to the row and vine if desired.
UvaLink is built to support practical operational tracking rather than complex mapping software, so the focus is on keeping your vineyard structure clear and usable for day-to-day management.
Does UvaLink support scouting?
Yes. You can record scouting observations in the field, flag issues, and track follow-up so problems do not just disappear into someone’s notebook or memory.
You can take photos live from the app in the field to help track progress and issue resolutions.
Does UvaLink provide vineyard insights & recommendations?
Yes. UvaLink is designed to do more than just store records. It helps turn vineyard activity, field observations, and weather context into useful insights that can support better day-to-day decisions across the season.
That includes identifying patterns, surfacing gaps in activity history, and helping highlight conditions or trends that may deserve attention. The goal is to give growers and vineyard teams more useful visibility without adding more manual work.
Does UvaLink include weather information?
Yes. UvaLink is designed to connect weather context to vineyard records and support weather-based insights, helping you understand field conditions around logged activity and spot patterns that may affect decisions.
Can UvaLink help with reporting?
Yes. UvaLink keeps vineyard records organized as you go, so reporting is much easier when you need it later. It includes prebuilt PDF reports to reduce manual effort, including:
- Irrigation
- Pest Control
- Fertilization
- Scouting
- Harvest
- Activity Timelines
- Season Comparisons
You can also export your vineyard data to Excel for your own records, internal review, certification support, or other compliance-related documentation.
Can UvaLink help with compliance or certifications?
UvaLink is designed to support better recordkeeping, which can make compliance-related reporting and certification prep much easier. It does not guarantee compliance or certification, but it can make the documentation side far more manageable.
Can UvaLink help with my finances or accounting?
Not directly today. UvaLink is not accounting software, and it is not meant to replace your bookkeeping or financial systems.
That said, UvaLink can help you keep cleaner operational records that support financial tracking. For example, harvest hours and other activity details can be recorded in UvaLink, which can make it easier to review labor and operational history later. Over time, we expect to build more tools that help connect vineyard activity data to business and financial decision-making.
Can UvaLink support teams?
Yes. UvaLink is built to support both individual growers and vineyard teams. It is a good fit for operations that need better shared visibility and recordkeeping without the cost or complexity of enterprise software.
The Team plan includes multiple user seats, and you can add more as needed. Permissions and alerts can be customized by user, helping each person see and manage what is most relevant to their role.
Both individual and team subscriptions also allow unlimited field operators for tracking purposes.
Does UvaLink have a free trial?
Yes. UvaLink offers a 14-day free trial so you can get set up, explore the platform, and decide if it’s the right fit for your vineyard before subscribing.
No credit card is required to start, and there is no automatic charge at the end of the trial. You only pay if you choose to continue.
